After menopause, when oestrogen levels fall, women’s ability to grow such long hair reduces.

The longest hair ever recorded was 5.63m (18 ft. 5.54 inches) by Xie Quiping (China). The record attempt, set in 2004, began in 1972 when she began growing her hair at the age of 13.
