Yes, this is  hair fact! As a general rule, women can grow their hair longer than men. This is because oestrogen, the female hormone, encourages hair growth and prolongs Anagen, the growing period of the hair cycle.

After menopause, when oestrogen levels fall, women’s ability to grow such long hair reduces.

The longest hair ever recorded was 5.63m (18 ft. 5.54 inches) by Xie Quiping (China). The record attempt, set in 2004, began in 1972 when she began growing her hair at the age of 13.
